Hello everybody, SlimKirby here, and welcome to another edition of Question Corner!

It was slow-going with questions for awhile, but once we got to the month of July, things started picking up again. In fact, I meant to have this issue up last week, but I had a lot of stuff going on, including participation in PowerToMario’s Mario Masters Invitational competition. Posting this issue was not off my mind, but so many other things came up. However, I will not leave you guys empty-handed, I promised you an update, and I will give you an update. Heck, Question Corner #9 is about filled up as well!

Just a few reminders, as usual, make sure your question meets the qualifications as explained on the previous page; please leave personal and inappropriate questions out of your submissions, and please try to avoid simple questions like “Have you played this game?” because chances are, I will not have a very long or in-depth response to that. Also, I only make these posts when I have enough questions AND at my earliest convenience. Threats or intimidation will not speed up these posts, so if you are going to do that in order to make the next part come out, you are a waste of space and you need to find something in your life that has meaning, so seriously grow up and get over it. But with that said, if you have a question, please go to the Contact page to send one.

Q: “Are you a fan of the Dragon Ball series?”
A: I tried watching Dragon Ball Z when I was younger but could never get into it. Then one night a few years back, I watched an arc of the original Dragon Ball (it was a tournament series), and actually found it somewhat interesting. Aside from that though, I don’t have any major interest in the series. If I did ever watch it, it would be the original DB series and not DBZ.

Q: “Do you enjoy the PC or console version of the Sims series?”
A: I feel like the Sims games were made for PC, but some of the console variations are interesting. To answer the question though, I would pick the PC over a console for Sims.

Q: “Would you ever want to see a Futurama Hit & Run, a game like Simpsons: Hit & Run with Futurama characters?”
A: I would like to see a Futurama game where they put a lot of work into it much like they did with Simpsons: Hit & Run, but as far as type of game is concerned, not sure if the sandbox style of game would work as well as it would for Simpsons. The Futurama world isn’t as established as the Simpsons world because the technology of the Futurama world kind of makes the idea of vehicular transport kind of moot and pointless, if that makes sense. Again, that kind of assumes that they stick with the sandbox style of game though, which they might not. Honestly, a Futurama game that’s set up kinda like The Simpsons Game (the Wii/Xbox360/PS3 video game) could work. In fact, I think they did make a game like that, it just didn’t do incredibly well.

Q: “Do you like the Gamecube game Wario World?”
A: Heh…I wonder if the person asking this actually saw the stream I did for the game….because I didn’t exactly have the greatest time with it. Honestly, I think it’s a fine game, but it has some really weird and annoying design choices that I’m not really a fan of. I can’t say I hate the game, but I’m not exactly fond of it either.

Q: “Do you think you will ever be a guest on a collab channel like The Runaway Guys, SuperGamingBros or BrainScratchComms?”
A: Personally, someday I am sure I will be featured, at least on TRG, in some form, whether it’s in one of their tournaments or something that has some kind of relevance to my channel (like Mario Party or Fortune Street), but at the same time, that is not up to me. That is up to the people who own those channels and I have no control or say in that. I would be interested and have voiced that interest many times, but the timing has never been there yet, I guess. I don’t think I would fit in the SuperGamingBros channel, but only because when I think of that channel, I can only picture that channel being Johnny, Elliot and Matt because they are the “Super Gaming Brothers,” like…literally. I would absolutely be honored to be a guest on BrainScratchComms at some point in the future.

Q: “What individual game do you think is stronger in the Sonic 3 & Knuckles combination?”
A: I think Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is the stronger game. I love both games individually, but I feel like Sonic & Knuckles has kind of a weaker mid-game. It tried to focus a little more on story with how Knuckles gets deceived by Robotnik, which is cool in its own right, but Hidden Palace and Sky Sanctuary just feel so short and are so empty in Knuckles playthrough. But again, at this point it feels like I’m splitting really thin hedgehog hairs because they are both really good games.

Q: “Would you like to see Daisy or Waluigi get their own spinoff games?”
A: No. I think enough of the Mario franchise characters have gotten their own games, and even though both Daisy and Waluigi have their own kind of fame (and/or notoriety), I just don’t have any desire to see a game with them as the main characters, in my own personal opinion.

Q: “Would you do a video on imitating Kirby’s dance?”
A: No, for a number of reasons. I can’t move as fast as Kirby. I can’t squish my body down as thin as Kirby can, I can’t jump as high as Kirby can….there are just a number of factors for why this isn’t a good idea and why it couldn’t work! Sorry though, lol.

Q: “Have you ever woken up one day and just thought ‘I just don’t feel like Let’s Playing today,’ and not done it as a result?”
A: Interesting question, mainly because that kind of depends on how Let’s Play videos are done from person to person. With the way I do videos, I do multiple videos on one day, so I’m not necessarily recording one episode per day. I just upload one episode a day, which isn’t exactly a super hands-on process. I just make the title, the video description, and it’s done. Because of this schedule though, I’m really only working on Let’s Play videos 4-5 days per week, and if I keep that going, I can essentially get a lot of videos done in advance which means I have a few extra days I can take off before I need to worry about a new episode needing to be done. I used to do one video per day (the recording, editing, etc.), but after a while, it just made more sense to record multiple and have them done ahead of time. I think it was around Majora’s Mask when I had this revelation, because it would have been annoying to save and quit when I was like, in the middle of a dungeon or something. But again, it varies from person to person. There are some days where I feel like postponing my work a little bit, but I’m usually ahead enough that it doesn’t usually lead to me missing an update or anything like that, so consider this a “yes” to your question, but technically a “no” as well, as there are very few (if any) days I’ve missed unless I absolutely had to miss them.

Q: “What character is your favorite and least favorite in Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones?
A: If you couldn’t tell from my playthrough, I’m really fond of Tana, just because she starts out as this character who needs to be saved and protected and is supposed to stay out of combat. However, when you actually get to use her and as her level starts increasing, she can freaking destroy everything. I am also very fond of Gerik and Cormag as well, but that is because they are awesome no matter what. As for characters I don’t like story wise, I can’t stand Riev because a part of me doesn’t really understand what the hell is he supposed to be. A priest corrupted by magic? A straight-up zombie? He just doesn’t really make a lot of sense. Clearly he is supposed to be evil, but unlike Caellach and Valter, he just isn’t very flushed out. I’m also not a fan of Eirika’s depiction during her route at the end of the game, as I talked about in the bonus episode for that project. As far as combat though, Moulder has never really seemed to be that good of a character for me, and Knoll with his piss-poor defenses seems like more trouble than he is worth.

Q: “How do you think Smash Bros. should handle Target Test in the future Smash installements?”
A: I know people tell me that making over 50 individual target stages, one for each character, isn’t exactly optimal, and I do understand and get that, but at the same time, the thing I liked about the target stages were how they tested the character’s individual attributes and moves. That’s what made the stages fun and I think that’s the best way to use the mode in my eyes. So even though it’s more work than probably desired, I don’t care, I think there should be target stages for every character; UNIQUE target stages. Not the stage for each difficulty in Brawl or the Angry Birds knock-off in Smash 4. I want to see individual target test stages again.

Q: “What are your thoughts on Yooka-Laylee so far?”
A: So far, I’m honestly very, very interested and would like to see more about it and eventually get the game as well. It looks like a game I would really, really enjoy playing!

Q: “Will you have more reviews posted on your website?”
A: I would like to do more gaming reviews, but I’ve been holding back because I’m not sure what kind of reviewer I would want to be. I’d actually be more interested in doing more game retrospectives and stuff of that nature aside from just looking at an individual game and comparing it and contrasting it to others. I would still probably do that in retrospectives anyway, but my mind would probably be a little more focused as I would be playing the entire series at once. But basically, I have no idea. I’m still trying to figure it out and at the moment, I’m under the mindset that I should focus on my Let’s Playing first and foremost before I add anything extra.

Q: “Do you like the television show Scrubs?”
A: I used to watch Scrubs all the time when it was on and it will always remain one of my all-time favorite shows. It’s so funny and also so touching and beautiful at the same time. It’s really a shame how some of the later seasons went though. It had a beautiful ending at the end of Season 8, but then it tried to do a Season 9 with new characters and a new set-up which just didn’t work very well. Aside from that though, the first 6 seasons are classics, Season 7 was ok, and Season 8 was a good finisher, at the absolute least. We just won’t speak of Season 9.

Q: “What are your thoughts on Wario Land 3 and 4 and will you do Let’s Plays on them?”
A: Wario Land 3 is pretty cool and I will admit that an LP of the game is kind of in the works. It’s on my “To-Do” list for LPs, but not my immediate one. Wario Land 4, I don’t know too much about. I think it’s going to be a case, much like Sonic CD and Mega Man 7 where I want to play through the game first before I actually do a playthrough on it.

Q: “How do you maintain your focus, energy and stamina when you host those 24-hour streams?”
A: I do what I can, for the most part. The human body is a very interesting thing, especially because it really does need that downtime to recuperate from nonstop alertness. I can usually make it twenty hours with no issues, but trying to make it to the twenty-four hour mark is a very difficult challenge. My only advice is to get plenty of sleep beforehand and have various meals throughout the day. Only hit the caffeine or sodas if you really need them, and make sure you have someone alongside you to keep you company and your focus on point. Also, make sure the reason for why you are doing a 24-hour stream is always fresh in your mind. For example, my recent Mario Party stream was my way of saying “thank you” to my fans while also raising money for charity on the side. Those incentives kept me going strong through the entire marathon!

Q: “Do you have plans to ever bring back the Star Warrior Cup?”
A: I actually get the question more often than I ever expected to. Honestly, I would like to bring this back at some point, but I want it to be a streaming thing so I can interact with people during the event. The only problem is that my Internet hasn’t been very kind when it comes to streaming and playing games online at the same time. It just doesn’t really work and one of the two things always crashes. I may consider it again when I get better Internet sometime in the future, but for now, it’s not really an option, so my apologies.

Q: “What is your motivation for working out and getting into shape?”
A: Honestly, I’ve been battling a weight problem for my entire life and I would like to make some permanent changes to my physique. I don’t really intend to massively slim down or anything like that, but just to lose some weight and take better care of myself. I want to live a long and healthy life.

Q: “Have you any interest in the game L.A. Noire?”
A: Believe it or not, I do. I saw the SuperGamingBros playthrough of the game last year and really enjoyed what I saw. The fact that it’s really similar to Grand Theft Auto with the twist of being on the law enforcement side of crime really interested me, alongside the interrogation segments as well. I did purchase the game this year on the Xbox360, so I do have it in my collection. I plan to do my own playthrough (by myself and NOT on Youtube or Twitch) very soon!

Q: “Has anyone told you that you look incredibly different wearing glasses?”
A: No one needs to tell me, I see it too. I look incredibly different with glasses. In fact, I once did an online picture quiz where it guessed my age based on a picture of myself. I took two pictures, same exact pose, one with glasses and one without, and there was like a 10 year difference with the age, no lie.

And there we go for another twenty questions. Thanks to everybody for submitting! Have a great day!
