Super Mario Sunshine

Super Mario Sunshine

Game: Super Mario Sunshine
Start Date: August 11th, 2014
Runtime: 9 hours
Videos: 23

Mario and Peach surely need a vacation after all of the kidnappings they’ve had to endure, but they are about to find out that this vacation will not be absent of controversy. A shadowed doppleganger of Mario has appeared on the luxurious Isle Delfino and is covering the island in mysterious goop and when Mario arrives on the scene, he gets blamed for the mess. With a new water tank named FLUDD on his back, Mario proceeds to clean up the entire island and to clear his name.

I wanted this game to be my big summer Let’s Play, but I unfortunately took a bit longer in finishing some of my other projects, making this game appear rather late in the summer months. Regardless, this is a game that I have wanted to do since my initial completion of Super Mario 64 back in 2013 and with just enough summer left in this year, I knew it was the perfect time to begin this game. Unfortunately, I got plagued with some computer issues during this project, but as soon as I got them fixed, I was right back on track.

Mario Party 7

Mario Party 7

Game: Mario Party 7
Start Date: October 23rd, 2010
Runtime: 11 hours
Videos: 41

During the Gamecube era, Mario Party got into the habit of releasing one game per calendar year, and Mario Party 7 was no different. In this rendition, Mario and his friends have gone on vacation, but when Bowser doesn’t get invited, Mario and his friends better think twice about who they exlcude, because Bowser is now going on a spree of rage, ruining whatever destination they travel to.

This Mario Party project had the unfortunate timing of taking place during one of my “computer decides to crash” phases, and as a result, was put on hold for a period of time. One of the most unfortunate aspects of this crash was the fact that during the course of this playthrough, my appreciation for this game had actually increased, when before, it was probably my least favorite of the Mario Party series.

Mario Party 6

Mario Party 6

Game: Mario Party 6
Start Date: May 15th, 2010
Runtime: 10 hours

The entity of the Sun, Brighton, and the moon spirit Twila, have been playing too much Kirby Super Star, and much in the same fashion as the sun and the moon in that game, the two siblings start to argue and put the world in a state of a day-night hybrid. Mario and his friends are once again in the middle of this dispute, and decide to play Mario Party, but this time with a day and night twist!

It was that time of the year where I knew Mario Party was going to be in demand again, and being the Mario Party nerd that I am, I had no reason not to endulge. With the success of Mario Party 5, I knew I had some big shoes to fill, but at the end of the day, all you need to do is party hard, and then the rest will follow! As usual, I covered all the Party Mode boards and all of the extra features and bonus games.

The Simpsons: Hit & Run

The Simpsons: Hit & Run

Game: The Simpsons: Hit & Run
Start Date: August 31st, 2009 (Replay: July 7th, 2018)
End Date: October 15th, 2009 (Replay: — )
Videos: 46 (Replay: — )

In the town of Springfield, the citizens can’t seem to go a single day without some kind of chaos starting, and the effects only seem to multiply when the introduction of Buzz Cola is sweeping the town off its feet. What starts as a Black Van conspiracy turns into other crazy developments, and the Simpson family, once again, seems to be at the center of all of this. You won’t believe what will start to unfold in this crazy game!

This project is widely regarded and recognized as one of my best, and I can understand why. This game is a classic gem that I wish would be universally seen as the masterpiece that it is, and I feel that there are many gamers out there who feel the same way. Combine a good game with the comedy styling of The Simpsons, and you have a title you will be remembering for a VERY long time!

This was the third “replay” project I did on my channel, as I had done some videos for the game at a prior date, but due to the bad (camcorder) quality of the project, with no commentary to boot, I decided to redo the project with a modern spin in 2009. The older 2007 videos are no longer available on my channel. In 2018, I decided to redo this project again to celebrate my 11th year anniversary. Both projects are listed below with the replay above the original version.
