Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

After Nintendo released Fire Emblem (7) to North American audiences, they seemed to understand that Fire Emblem was a series that quite a number of North American gamers wanted to be a part of, and they continued the tradition by bringing over Fire Emblem 8 as well, also known as Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. This tale follows the story of Eirika and Ephraim, two children who hail from an attacked and nearly-destroyed nation, trying to win back their lost homeland in addition to saving the land of Magvel itself from a dark power.

I’ve definitely gotten my feet wet with the Fire Emblem series before, and after taking on both Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn before; The Sacred Stones should be a cakewalk for me. This was the 3rd big-time RPG and/or strategy game I’ve done in a year though, so hopefully my fatigue doesn’t get to me!

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

Game: Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
Start Date: March 26th, 2015

Meta Knight has gone missing in the Mirror World and Kirby has been split into 4 miniature copies. You know what this means? I think it means that it is time for a Kirby Metroidvania game! Let’s explore this world and restore the Magic Mirror back to normal!

I think it’s no surprise that I wanted Pokemon Gold to be my 100th project, but due to the vast number of issues during the previous year, that just wasn’t going to happen, especially while in the process of working on Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. So why not another Kirby game? Sounds good to me!

Mario Kart: Super Circuit

Mario Kart: Super Circuit

Game: Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Start Date: December 27th, 2014

Mario Kart had never been on handheld before, and with the rising popularity of the Game Boy Advance, a handheld installment was definitely not a shot in the dark. Although it would lack some of the more desirable features of a Mario Kart game, being on the Game Boy Advance and all, it still provided the basics of what makes Mario Kart…well…Mario Kart!

I had enjoyed going through the Mario Kart games in order, but that meant after Mario Kart 64, I would need to start taking on Super Circuit next. Although it is my least favorite game of the entire series, I can’t say too much negative about this game, because it was very limited on what it could accomplish as a Mario Kart game. The Game Boy Advance was cool and all, but it just couldn’t provide the core excellent multiplayer that we’ve come to love from the series.

Advance Wars

Advance Wars

Game: Advance Wars
Start Date: February 1st, 2010
Runtime: 26 hours
Videos: 120

War is one of those things that you just can’t be happy about, but when you use easily disposable and recycled soldiers, it suddenly becomes a game of really intensive thinking and addictive gameplay. Something strange is going on in Cosmo Land, and when neighboring Blue Moon starts attacking the nation of Orange Star, it’s up to Andy and his friends, Max and Sami, to get to the bottom of this mysterious conflict and unravel the mysteries within.

After taking on the challenge of Fire Emblem back in 2009, I knew I wanted to cover its sister series, Advance Wars, as well. I knew this was going to be quite the undertaking, as Advance Wars is almost more complicated than Fire Emblem, but I was up to the task. This project features the entire Campaign Mode, including alternate paths/routes, and a run-through of all the War Room maps.
