Thomas Was Alone

Thomas Was Alone

Game: Thomas Was Alone

Indie games can seriously turn out to be exquisite gems of beauty; the types of games you normally wouldn’t see on consoles, but because one person decided to put their creative mind to work, and due to nice little services like Steam and all the virtual consoles of the world, we can now experience games like Thomas Was Alone! A game that follows a young rectangle through life as he meets new friends and navigates the world around him.

A good friend of mine, illuWeaver, gifted me this game on Steam awhile back. After telling me nothing but good things about this game, and after telling her that I had never heard of it before, she thought it was a game I really needed to play. So when it went on sale, she bought it for me AND I HUGGED HER NONSTOP FOR IT! Ok, I may have exaggerated the last part, but I did enjoy the gift and decided it was a game that would be good to showcase on my channel as a blind playthrough. Plus, I needed another game to finish out the year with! Either way, it’s time for Thomas Was Alone!

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

Game: Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Start Date: December 5th, 2015

After releasing some of its flagship series on the Gamecube in 2002 and 2003; like Mario, Zelda and Metroid, it’s no surprise that a Mario Kart game was in the works as well. However, this game was coming in the form of DOUBLE TROUBLE! Two characters take one kart in the high speed action of Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

I promised Double Dash at the end of 2015, you will get Double Dash at the end of 2015! Double Dash is definitely a milestone as far as the Mario Kart series goes for me. Kind of that point where I felt like Nintendo had a good formula down and all future additions really just needed a few tweaks in control and (obviously) an update in the graphics engine. Although it’s not my favorite Mario Kart, a lot of fun was had with this game when it was relevant.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Game: Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Start Date: November 30th, 2015
Videos: 84

After Nintendo released Fire Emblem (7) to North American audiences, they seemed to understand that Fire Emblem was a series that quite a number of North American gamers wanted to be a part of, and they continued the tradition by bringing over Fire Emblem 8 as well, also known as Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. This tale follows the story of Eirika and Ephraim, two children who hail from an attacked and nearly-destroyed nation, trying to win back their lost homeland in addition to saving the land of Magvel itself from a dark power.

I’ve definitely gotten my feet wet with the Fire Emblem series before, and after taking on both Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn before; The Sacred Stones should be a cakewalk for me. This was the 3rd big-time RPG and/or strategy game I’ve done in a year though, so hopefully my fatigue doesn’t get to me!
